I don't know how I ended up on this rabbit hole, but I have a question for the here.

Is there a "difference" between an audio interface, and a USB DAC?

Afaik a USB DAC, is basically the same thing, except an "audio interface" has a DAC for the monitoring ports, and also a ADC as well for input (mic/instrument), whereas a USB DAC only has output.

So in theory, they would achieve pretty similar sound output? (obviously depending on the quality of both devices)

@mhamzahkhan technically a DAC and an ADC are just one chip inside an audio interface, but a lot of people don't understand this and just call an audio interface a "DAC"
